Acting US Attorney for New Jersey, Alina Habba, boasted about arresting Democratic Newark Mayor Ras Baraka on Friday after he and a delegation of Democratic Representatives were accosted by ICE agents outside of a migrant detention center in New Jersey. Baraka was released, but Habba maintains that he will be prosecuted, and other Republicans accused him of launching an “insurrection” and committing “treason.” More arrests of Democrats could be on the way according to the Department of Homeland Security. On Friday, Alina Habba, the acting US attorney for the State of New Jersey, proudly announced that she had arrested the Democratic mayor of the city of Newark, New Jersey, Ras Baraka, because Mr. Baraka wanted to go into an ice detention facility with the New Jersey delegation from the US House of Representatives. And she says he was, he was loitering, he was refusing to leave, he was trespassing. And so she is absolutely waiting to prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. And in announcing the arrest of a democratic politician, Alina Haas said this, he has willingly chosen to disregard the law that will not stand in this state. He has been taken into custody. No one is above the law. She said, no one is above the law, except that you've been arguing in court for several years now that your client at the time Donald J. Trump was in fact, above the law.

Remember that? Did you forget because I didn't, I don't think our viewers here would ring a fire. Forgot you were literally arguing in court for years that some people are in fact, above the law. So did you forget or were you just lying back then? Either way, the arrest of a democratic politician, a man who actually is viewed as the most likely person, uh, to become the next governor of the state of New Jersey at an ice detention facility is of course shocking. What's even more shocking is that this is probably not gonna be the only arrest you had. DHS, department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, Trisha McLaughlin, Ms. McLaughlin went on television shortly after the arrest of, uh, Mr. Baraka, and she suggested that the Democrats who went with him were also likely to be arrested. She said it's on the table because they allegedly body slammed.

That's a word she used. They body slammed an ice agent. My God, these old men and little old ladies, because that's who they were, body slammed. This big hardened ice agent. Let me read you her exact quote. We actually have body camera footage of some of these members of Congress assaulting our ice enforcement officers, including body slamming a female ICE officer. So we will be showing that to viewers very shortly. When she was asked if these members of Congress would be arrested, she said, this is an ongoing investigation and that is definitely on the table. So they would be showing us the body cam footage shortly. Well, luckily they did. So here's the body cam footage, folks. You tell me when you see one of these old men or little old ladies body slam an ice agent, here it is.

Didn't see anybody slams, did you? And in fact, I I, I didn't see anybody other than, you know, one of the bystanders getting shoved to the ground by an ICE agent. Uh, that was the only person who ended up on the ground. I saw ice agents shoving lawmakers who for the record, do in fact have oversight of these federal detention facilities, which is what this is. This is a federal detention facility, meaning it does fall under the, uh, review of Congress. So those members of Congress had every legal right to be there. That that is absolutely something everybody needs to be aware of as an oversight body. They have that right now. Maybe they didn't go through the correct channels to do that and set up a particular time. Maybe they did, but they have a right to be there. And no, they were not the ones shoving they were being shoved.
