4:40Now PlayingNew data released this week proves that Donald Trump’s tariffs have completely backfired, doing the exact opposite of what he said they were going to do. Trump swore that the tariffs were going to increase manufacturing in America, but in reality they have completely decimated the industry and companies are now seeing reduced production along with having to do mass layoffs. The industry is dying, and Donald Trump is 100% to blame, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.

America is hemorrhaging jobs right now. And of course, this week we got news that the jobs reports throughout 2024 and of course the early part of this year were revised downward as well, showing a loss of 922,000 jobs compared to the gains that they had allegedly made in that time. Now, the problem I have before I even get into the meat of this story, the problem I have with those revised jobs numbers is that those numbers had of course already been revised. Typically, you don't see the Bureau of Labor Statistics go back and revise numbers from a year and a half ago, right? Like that that that's weird. And it's even more suspect considering the fact that this was, of course, Biden's last year in office. and Trump just fired the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Dr. Erica McIntver. So, you get rid of the people who you don't like. You're putting in your own people who've admitted that, oh, we're going to change the way we count things, and then suddenly all the jobs from the Biden year disappear. Uh, very suspicious. I don't know if it's believable, but what I do know right now is that the statistics we have available show that America is in fact hemorrhaging jobs. And nobody is being harder hit right this moment than the manufacturing industry. The big irony there is that Donald Trump during the campaign and of course during his second administration here has repeatedly told us, "I'm bringing back manufacturing. These tariffs are going to force everybody to make things in America. It's going to be great. Manufacturing is going to boom. We're going to be in the golden age of America, he says. But unfortunately, his tariffs have backfired on him, and they're literally having the opposite effect. Here are the numbers from last Friday's jobs report. 6,000 jobs were lost in August in mining and logging, 7,000 in construction, 12,000 in manufacturing, and 11,700 in wholesale trade. August jobs numbers were not an anomaly, and we saw similar trends starting in April, which of course is the month that the tariffs started, right? That was Liberation Day. So, there is a correlation. We can see it. Every month we've had tariffs, we're losing jobs. It's not bringing manufacturing back. It is raising prices for Americans. And by the way, folks, do you know what happens when we have rising unemployment happen at the same time as rising prices? When you have fewer people pulling in money as things cost more money? Yeah, that's economic disaster. That's recession bordering on depression. In fact, I think it's closer to depression than it is recession at this point. But fewer people are now bringing home paychecks than they were a month ago. Prices of everyday necessities are higher than they were a month ago, but there's less money to spend on those things.
This is 100% because of Trump's tariffs. The economists are telling us that. The statistics prove that the correlation between when the tariff started and when the hemorrhaging started, the corporations, the ones that are raising prices and laying off people, are telling us it's 100% because of the tariffs.
This is Trump's doing. The economy is going to get worse by the week, folks. And no amount of whitewashing labor statistics, no amount of trying to make Biden look bad, none of that matters because what matters is reality. Unemployment is rising. Prices are rising. The number of jobs available is falling. We are in for financial economic ruin. And it is 100% because of Donald Trump. Thanks for watching everybody.
