8:55Now PlayingA young self-made millionaire has an offer for children and their financial futures. Jeff Badu took Center Stage on "Start Your Day" with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill. Badu, who grew up with no financial literacy, became a millionaire by the age of 26. Originally born and raised in Ghana, he came to the United States to conquer the American Dream. At the age of 24, he launched his accounting firm after graduating from the University of Illinois. Badu said financial literacy is important because he wanted to break the cycle of poverty for Black children. "I wanted to start them young so they can build their own sort of business, their own sort of financial prosperity," he said. A financial literacy program he created teaches children between the ages of 6 and 18.
