5:31Now PlayingHouse Republicans have voted to remove Representative Liz Cheney over her criticism of former President Donald Trump. Cheney was one of the ten Republicans who voted to impeach him for inciting the deadly insurrection in January. She also went against the false claims he and other GOP members made about the election being stolen. The vote removes her from her leadership position as the GOP Conference Chair, but it does not remove her from office. "The nation needs a strong Republican Party, the nation needs a party that is based upon fundamental principles of conservatism, and I am committed and dedicated to ensuring that that's how this party goes forward, and I plan to lead the fight to do that," Cheney said after the vote.
