“It means a lot to me to be able to start something new,” the basketball player says. “Especially for college athletes and the future of name, image and likeness. If that continues to go the way it’s going then people will be able to monetize … and this is just one of the ways you can do that.”
Garza also exclusively announced his own NFT company LukaGarzaNFTgroup.io. The company has 3 new NFT Cards with added benefits such as photo opportunities, a signed pair of shoes or photo and much more. A part of the proceeds from the digital tokens will go to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
The basketball star also talked about the NCAA and if college athletes should be paid outside of their scholarships.
