At least 50 Democrats left their state of Texas to get support from federal lawmakers in Washington D.C. The Texas Legislature cannot hold the vote on the voting measures without the two-thirds vote. Texas lawmakers will stay in the nation’s capital until moderate Democrats kill the filibuster rules used by the GOP in the Senate to block voting bills. Texas representative Lloyd Doggett said, “It is a time for bold action, the same kind of bold action and courage we need in the United States Senate.”
