10:36Now PlayingDennis Lee Allen has spent 15 years in prison for a crime that he didn’t commit.
In April 1999, he was convicted of murdering Jesse Borns Jr., a Dallas, Texas store owner and minister. Allen was sentenced to life in prison despite no concrete evidence linking him to the killing of Borns Jr.
However, in 2018, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals ruled that the lead prosecutor in the case, Rick Jackson, concealed a number of key pieces of evidence during the trial. As a result, a Texas judge ruled Allen innocent on all charges in 2019 and Jackson gave up his law license.
