On Monday, Metropolitan Police confirmed the death of officer Kyle DeFreytag who joined the force in 2016 and Officer Gunther Hashida with the Emergency Response Team. More than 550 people are facing charges for their alleged roles in the insurrection. Federal prosecutors say they are in early talks to resolve the cases of some Proud Boys members charged in the case.
