4:44Now PlayingIf you couldn’t include Tupac and Biggie, Nas and Jay-Z, Eminem, Rakim, Ice Cube, Mos Def or Jadakiss, who would your list of greatest rappers include?
“Start Your Day” hosts Shannon LaNier and Mike Hill are chiming in on the topic, which has been making its round on social media lately. LaNier first noted that he might get some push back for throwing out Cardi B, but she ranks on his list because she is the first female rapper to have all her songs on an album to go platinum or gold. He also gave praise to KRS 1 and Big Daddy Kane, while Hill threw out Andre 3000, Method Man, Lil Wayne, LL Cool J and Kendrick Lamar, who we all agree needs to drop something soon. Queen Latifah, the
“revolutionary” Missy Elliot and MC Lyte are also fan favorites and of course, Drake. The hosts also noted that while Jadakiss has long told the world he was one of the best rappers alive, it doesn’t seem as though people actually believed him until his domination against Dip Set at the recent Verzuz battle. So, who do you have on your list of top five greatest rappers?
All this and more on “Start Your Day.”
