2:59Now Playing“Start Your Day” host Lauren McCoy shares some news updates, including what’s been happening in Afghanistan as the Taliban continues to move in.
The Pentagon has ordered six United States commercial airlines to help more evacuees escape Afghanistan. Singapore has also stepped in, offering Air Bus A330 to help people get out. “We are singularly focused on evacuating American citizens, Afghans who worked with us and Afghans who are vulnerable, including women and children,” Vice President Kamala Harris said in a clip aired on “Start Your Day.” The White House recently announced a series of agreements with Singapore in an effort to combat cyberattacks and cyber threats, tackle climate change, and to address the COVID-19 pandemic and supply issues. In Tesla news, the estimated delivery time for the vehicles has been pushed back to as late as next year due to a parts shortage shutting down auto plants nationwide. Possible battery combustion has led General Motors to expand its Chevy Bolt recall to include all models. If you drive one, you’re advised to park it outside away from structures and don’t charge it overnight.
All this and more on “Start Your Day.”
