7:29Now PlayingHurricane Ida was measured as a Category 4 hurricane, which is the second-highest storm classification. The hurricane ushered in pounding rain, continuous winds of 150 mph and dangerous sea surges.
An Entergy spokesman confirmed Ida caused more than 1 million customers to lose power, which included all of New Orleans by Sunday night. The city of New Orleans could possibly be without power for over three weeks. The sewage in the city is run on power, which led to the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans to advise to use as little water as possible.
BNC correspondent Nerrisa Knight reports from the dark across from the New Orleans Convention Center. All this and more on BNC’s “Start Your Day.”
