8:51Now PlayingSt. Johns Parish President Jaclyn Hotard addresses the public at a news conference to talk about the progress made so far during the storm.
First, Hotard acknowledges that communication has gotten better since yesterday when they weren’t able to reach most of their residents.
Second, Hotard urges residents to talk to their family if they can and tell them about what’s currently going on at the ground floor. She asserts they are currently conducting their assessments on water, utility and damage.
After they figure out what their infrastructure is really looking like, they will be able to give out an estimate of when water can be restored to residents.
