“We want to say that young people, and young adults in particular, are kind of critical members of our political community,” Cohen said. “These issues and these policies impact them and their families and communities and if we aren’t uplifting their voices, then we’re making policy decisions that are only partially informed by something we call the public.”
Cohen also said the study group shared what they considered one of the most important topics besides unemployment, the housing market, COVID and the economy. The group’s response was racism.
