The death of “The Wire” actor devastated the Brooklyn community, where he was raised, and to those who only graced his presence once, they felt like they knew him for an eternity.
“It was like, no, you’re kidding me,” one resident said. “We just didn’t want to believe it. He was just a regular human being. He was a fun-loving guy, and that’s why it hurt us.”
Williams, the Emmy-winning actor, died at the age of 54 on Monday, Sept. 6.
