8:21Now Playing“BNC Go” takes us live to the Pentagon, where US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin shares a special message for families and loved ones of Americans who died in the September 11 attacks.
Austin sends his deepest condolences in honor of all the lives lost, including the 184 souls taken in the attack on the Pentagon, from in the building and on Flight 77. “We know that you carry pain every day,” says Austin. “We know that you bear your losses, not just at times of ceremony, but also in ordinary moments of absence, in quiet minutes that can seem to stretch on for hours. All of us are here because we remember, and I hope knowing that is at least some measure of comfort.” He notes that while sorrow doesn’t end, he hopes the good memories come more often and easily in coming years.
