It tells the story of companies like "Fight On," which was an electro-mechanical company formed in partnership with Xerox in the aftermath of the race riots in 1969.
“Fight On” would become the nation's first Black-run community development corporation. It would later be renamed “Eltrex” because some found its name and origins as “too militant.” Its goal was to give jobs to unemployed Black workers.
William Darity, professor of public policy at Duke University, joins Charles Blow on “Prime” to discuss the impact of Black capitalism.
