The jury is deliberating in the case of R. Kelly, who is on trial for racketeering and violating the Mann Act, which bans sex trafficking across state lines.

A pivotal moment in bringing allegations against him to light was the Mute R. Kelly movement. The movement’s co-founder Kenyette Tisha Barnes spoke to BNC's Astrid Martinez about Kelly's behavior and violence. She says the charges are fair, egregious and "severe for a reason." Barnes also said the rumors about Kelly’s actions with young girls were present and for years no one did anything about it.
