5:51Now PlayingThere was a congressional subcommittee hearing on the historical roots and continued contributions of HBCUs in their fight for funding.
This hearing comes as HBCU leaders raise concerns that funding commitments made by the Biden administration will fall short amid negotiations over the president’s Build Back Better Plan.
Derrick C. Gilmore, executive vice president at Stillman College, joins Najahe Sherman on “BNC Live” to discuss why money for HBCUs is so important.
