Whitlow called the move a “landmark,” considering so many new infections and full-blown cases are among school-aged children. BNC’s chief medical editor Dr. Corey Hebert joins Whitlow and says that, in terms of COVID-19 prevention, allowing children to get the vaccine is “really big” because of how they play and interact with others at school. Hebert notes while a lot of children haven’t died, “one child dying from something that is preventable is really one too many.” The virus is on the only constant, he says, and he hopes people will start to respect the concept of science and vaccinations so they can make sure their children receive the vaccine when the time comes.
