2:12Now PlayingBNC correspondent Dray Clark focuses on Clifford Owensby, the Ohio man paralyzed from the waist down who was dragged from his car by police. He said it was a tragic situation that’s left him with nightmares.
In an appearance on “Making the Case w/ Yodit Tewolde,” Owensby and his lawyers discussed the physical pain, mental anguish and trauma he’s suffered after being arrested in a “very humiliating way.” He can be heard on body camera footage telling officers repeatedly that he’s paralyzed and can’t use his legs. Dayton police claim they pulled Owensby over after watching him leave a suspected drug house, adding the windows of his vehicle were too darkly tinted. Owensby has since filed a complaint with the NAACP alleging unlawful arrest, illegal search and seizure, and racial profiling. He also plans to follow up with a lawsuit.
