5:01Now PlayingThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s advisory panel will meet soon to discuss the rollout of booster shots for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.
The rules for the booster shots will slightly differ from those of the first two doses. The Food and Drug Administration may allow people to mix and match doses, which will let Americans who experienced adverse reactions from the original shots try a different brand. Family physician Dr. Sujan Gogu joins “BNC Live” host Tashanea Whitlow to discuss his thoughts. He says the mix and match approval will really help by offering life-saving flexibility for patients, especially in a world where vaccines are still available in short supply. The doctor also mentioned Gen. Colin Powell, saying it’s important to not only get vaccinated for yourself, but for those around you who are already more susceptible to the virus.
