In Virginia, two women of color, Hala Ayala and Winsome Sears, are battling it out to replace Justin Fairfax to be lieutenant governor of the state. Currently, it is a tight race with Ayala polling at 49% and Sears at 48%. One of these candidates will be the first female lieutenant governor in the history of the state.
