A vote to just begin debate on the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act was blocked earlier today, making it now the third bill to be obstructed by a Republican filibuster.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski was the only Republican to join Democrats in supporting the bill, making it nine Republican votes shy of what would’ve been needed to advance and what Sen. Joe Manchin has argued it would be possible to attain.
