7:23Now PlayingFor the fourth time this year, Republicans have blocked a vote on the John Lewis Voting Rights Act in a vote of 50-49, falling short of the 60 votes needed for the bill to move forward.
The legislation, named after the late congressman and civil rights activist, was aimed at fighting voter suppression across the country and strengthening the landmark voting rights act, originally passed in 1965.
Stephanie Young, executive director of “When We All Vote,” a non-profit voting rights organization, joins Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to discuss the outcome.
