Two insurrectionists at the facility wrote a letter to a federal judge this week with a list of 77 complaints, including that they must beg for water and medical aid.
Conditions in the D.C. jail, where 87% of detainees are Black, have been unacceptable for years. Washington D.C.’s Attorney General Karl A. Racine said this week the complaints raised about the facility are nothing new.
