9:58Now PlayingThe trial of former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett began on Nov. 29 in Cook County, Illinois, with opening statements.
It all started back in 2019, when Smollett claimed he was the victim of a hate crime. He alleges two masked strangers threw a noose around his neck and doused him with chemicals, all while yelling racist and homophobic slurs and expressing support for then-President Donald Trump.
BNC legal contributor Paul Henderson and criminal defense attorney Sue-Ann Robinson join Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to discuss this trial.
All this and more on “Making the Case.”
