The industries that suffered the most were education, transportation, leisure and hospitality. Sectors that were already having trouble keeping people even before the pandemic hit.
Now, many of those industries are stepping up efforts to recruit workers and rolling out massive incentives to do so. Hiring managers for transportation agencies are offering thousands of dollars as an incentive to get people to apply and then say “yes” to a job offer.
