The state has also asked the court to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 landmark decision that enshrined the right to abortions nationwide.
Roe v. Wade has been under attack for decades but remained protected by the highest court over the last 50 years. With three pro-life appointees on the bench, who were appointed by former President Donald Trump, the threat to a woman’s fundamental rights seems imminent.
Elizabeth Wydra, president of the Constitutional Accountability Center, joins Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to discuss Mississippi’s abortion law.
