The shockingly disturbing message comes on the heels of anti-Muslim comments made by some of her Republican colleagues, including Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert, who compared Omar to a bomb-carrying terrorist in a now viral video.
The question of why hatred against Islam and Muslims has become so normalized in America that otherwise holds high respect for religious freedom, is the subject of a book called, “The Racial Muslim: When Racism Quashes Religious Freedom.”
The book’s author, Sahar Aziz, joins Marc Lamont Hill on “Black News Tonight” to discuss this issue.
