Thanks to staffing shortages caused by omicron this week, thousands of schools across the country are closing their doors, sending students home and leaving working parents with few options.
According to a study by the Kaiser Family Foundation, after surveying almost 5,000 parents, one in 10 mothers reported quitting their jobs due to the pandemic, and most of them were young, Black, Latino or uninsured.
BNC correspondent Walter Morris explains why for many Black and low-income mothers, the fear of returning to online learning is much greater than omicron.
