The now-imprisoned 67-year-old Paul Rusesabagina refused to take part in the proceedings after he was found guilty in September of last year for being part of a group responsible for terrorist attacks. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
In Sudan, security forces continue to kill and injure protesters during nationwide rallies against military rule. According to a Facebook post by the pro-democracy group, The Central Committee of Sudan Doctors, security forces shot and killed at least seven protesters and injured at least 100 others.
