Before Roblox, indie horror titles, and fortnite took over the YouTube gaming space, there was one game to rule them all - Call of Duty. From Modern Warfare onwards, the series was on a hot streak for the better part of a decade, releasing hit after hit. And as the developers lined their pockets, they were side by side with YouTube. The site had started just two years prior to the release of cod 4 - with it’s growing popularity, came an entire community of 20-something year old guys looking to make their mark. Seananners, whiteboy7thst, xJaws, Syndicate, and many others rode call of duty - galloping to fame and laughing all the way to the bank. In the years that followed, some of these guys transitioned into other games (Ali-A) while others faded into relative obscurity (Seananners). But one man was embarking on a different journey - total self destruction. OnlyUseMeBlade rose to prominence for… well, only using his knife. He would narrate over gaming footage, talking about call of duty news, sharing stories from his life, and messing around with his friends. But over time his content turned from gaming, to drinking, and finally ingesting enough to kill dimebag darrell. His life has become a never-ending downward spiral of allegations, annoying strangers on the street, and having his limbs removed due to severe consumption. A man who was one poised to become a YouTube gaming legend is now trapped in a prison of his own making. This is the story of Brian Risso - and the dangers of addiction.
