Las Vegas, NV - Deobra Redden, 31, pleaded guilty but mentally ill in the middle of his attempted murder trial in September. As part of the guilty plea, a different judge could sentence Redden to at least three years in prison. Redden attacked Clark County Judge Mary Kay Holthus on January 3, 2024. The attack happened as Judge Holthus was sentencing Redden for a November 2022 aggravated battery offense.
