In little more than 10 days the Republic of Afghanistan collapsed and the Taliban took power. The Taliban advance was so rapid that it put the very US forces that had the mission of commanding the evacuation up against the wall. At times the chaos was total.
After 20 years, thousands and thousands of lost lives and a cost of more than $2 trillion dollars, the United States was leaving Afghanistan in the worst possible way: running, in the midst of enormous chaos and with the feeling of having suffered a painful defeat.
But how could the Taliban seize power so quickly? How is it possible that the Afghan army in which the United States had invested tens of billions of dollars was dissolved like a sugar cube? What lies behind the debacle in Afghanistan? In this video we answer these and other questions so you can learn the truth behind the painful defeat of the US in Afghanistan.
This video is the first chapter of a trilogy in which we hope to help you understand everything that has happened and know what the future may now hold for Afghanistan.
