What's Going on With Shipping?
September 25, 2022
In this episode, Sal Mercogliano - maritime historian at Campbell University and former merchant mariner - discusses the recent law suit brought against the owner of Ever Given, Shoei Kisen Kaisha and the UK P&I Club for the spoilage of food on board the ship while it was grounded and subsequently detained in the Suez Canal. The companies claim the vessel was sailing too fast and that led to the grounding of the vessel in the canal.
