3:22Now PlayingLike the famous artist Christo, who wrapped some of the world's most iconic landmarks in silk, an Australian artist wants to wrap the bombed buildings and muddy graveyards of Ukraine in fabric.
But not just any fabric. It will be a quilt of sunflower patches.
Scone artist Janno Mclaughlin is putting out a global call to sew together a quilt to send to Ukraine. She hopes it’ll be at least 100m by 100m, with at least 1000 patches.
They’re coming from all over the world, including some from the flood-ravaged Northern Rivers.
Janno hopes to have the quilt ready ahead of Ukraine’s Independence Day in August
