The House Judiciary Committee voted down a GOP amendment to the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump that would indicate Trump released military aid to Ukraine after the country approved anti-corruption reforms. Republicans argued that the president did not violate the law when he withheld U.S. military aid from Ukraine. Democrats have accused Trump of using the aid to pressure Ukraine to announce investigations into his political rivals and only released the aid when his misconduct was made public. The House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 12 considered revisions to the articles of impeachment and voted on whether to send those articles to the full U.S. House of Representatives. Democrats on Tuesday filed two articles of impeachment against Trump -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
