Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., offered an amendment to the articles of impeachment that would remove the charge of obstruction of Congress against President Donald Trump. Reschenthaler called the charge "bogus." Republicans have argued Trump’s efforts to push back against Democrats’ requests by filing lawsuits in federal courts are lawful. The House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 12 considered revisions to the articles of impeachment and voted on whether to send those articles to the full U.S. House of Representatives. Democrats on Tuesday filed two articles of impeachment against Trump -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
