Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., told his fellow lawmakers during a House Judiciary Committee hearing that Republicans’ assertion that President Donald Trump was asking Ukraine to investigate the Bidens as a means to crack down on corruption within the country are “silly” and “inaccurate.” "The idea that Trump was leading an anti-corruption effort is like Kim Jong Un leading a human rights effort. It’s just not credible," Rep. Cicilline said in response to a GOP amendment to the articles of impeachment against Trump. The House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 12 considered revisions to the articles of impeachment and voted on whether to send those articles to the full U.S. House of Representatives. Democrats on Tuesday filed two articles of impeachment against Trump -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
