Ahead of several hours of planned debate leading to the House impeachment vote on Dec. 18, Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., laid out the Democrats' argument for moving forward with charges against President Donald Trump's actions. "Congress cannot wait for the next election to address this misconduct," Nadler said. "President Trump has demonstrated a clear pattern of wrongdoing." The two articles charge President Donald Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. If passed, the process will then head for a trial in the Senate, where Republicans have a majority. Earlier in the day, the House voted to approve rules for the vote. The public impeachment process began with the House Intelligence Committee hearing testimonies in November.
