6:07Now PlayingSen. Angus King, I-Maine, questioned Doug Burgum, nominee for secretary of the interior, in a confirmation hearing Thursday held by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
King asked Burgum if he believed climate change is a problem. Burgum replied he believed that climate change "is a global phenomenon for sure."
King also pressed Burgum on his stance on renewable energy and innovating solutions for energy storage.
Burgum is a former corporate executive and governor of North Dakota who championed oil and gas drilling. President-elect Donald Trump has also tapped him to lead the new National Energy Council.
