YouTube Description
as posted by the channelOn Wednesday night, September 14th, 2016, 13 year old black male Tyre (incorrectly spelled as ‘Tyree’) King, was shot and killed by a Columbus, Ohio police officer. The situation started when police were called to the scene after a person was robbed that same night in Columbus. Three black males were identified as suspects in the robbery. When the police arrive to find the suspects, King and two other black male accomplices were identified as matching the description given by the alleged robbery victim. Police approach the males to question them, two of the three flee shortly thereafter. One of the persons who fled was Tyre King, who, at a certain point, pulled out a lifelike BB gun with a laser pointer attached to it. Of course, the police don’t waste any time, and proceed to shoot King to stop the threat. King died later at a children’s hospital in Columbus.
Now, social media has taken it upon themselves to champion Tyre as the latest martyr of Black Lives Matter. No matter the simple fact that Tyre king was a robbery suspect, ran from the police when questioned, then pulled out a gun and was shot as a result. Maybe all that matters is that he was a young black male and that the officer was white. Maybe it wouldn’t have mattered if he had an actual working firearm, like in the case of Alton Sterling. All that appears to matter is the narrative of black victimization, and white people being the cause of all ills in black America.
BB guns are not simply toys that are obviously so. Many of these BB guns are crafted identical to their “real” counterparts. They are so similar that they often fit into holsters that were designed for the “real” gun. The similarity.is indistinguishable in a situation where there can be no examination of the gun, like in a chase of an armed robbery suspect at night. Hopefully Black Lives (LIES) Matter and their ilk, at a certain point will be able to grasp that simple concept. Or else, more unfortunate situations like Tyre King will continue to happen.
