TRANSCRIPT
"As you know, your position has traditionally been Republican and your predecessor, you mentioned [Jonathan] Wallace, got that position and unfortunately it didn't last very long. So, what's your plan with reaching out to the people who didn't vote for you or don't plan to vote for you because you're a Democrat, period?"
"Yeah, this district was drawn for a Republican. It is gerrymandered, right? But at think we're at a point right now, with what we're seeing at the top, at the presidential level, the federal level...the people in power are doing things that the people who voted for them didn't ask for. They voted Republican last year because they wanted smaller government. They wanted lower prices. They wanted to do something about the border. Those are the things they voted for, but what they're getting is chaotic tariff policy that's driving prices through the roof. They're getting private armies terrorizing cities. This week, they murdered a woman in Minneapolis. Nobody.. well, some of them actually did vote for that, I think. But here in Oconee County at lot of them did not. I think, they may be traditional Republican voters, but I think this year they're going to be open to a little but more of a message from the other side. I'm really trying to present myself and focus legislatively on what is objectively true that is backed up by objective fact and applying solid reason to that. And I'm willing to talk about any of it. If we can agree on the same facts, but we have different reasoning, I'm going to listen to you and you might be able to change my mind. But if you're coming at me with some conspiracy theories that are just completely made up you're getting from propaganda sources, I'm sorry, I got nothing for you."
