The Craftsmen visits the Caithness Glass factory in Wick, in the Highlands of Scotland, where handmade, ornamental glassware is produced. This short documentary shows how glass is designed, produced and then meticulously engraved.
Colin Terris, David Gulland and Ann Robertson were all students at Edinburgh Art School, and now work in the antique craft of copper wheel engraving. They demonstrate the techniques they use to embellish fine hand-made glass with intricate designs that are cut to a thousandth of an inch.
