Michael Wale reports from the Lucania Snooker Hall in Romford, Essex, where young and unemployed men are showing up in their droves hoping to become the next Steve Davis. Interestingly, Steve owns the business next door. Snooker has had something of a renaissance in recent years, fuelled by television coverage, and is now as popular as it has been since its 1930s heyday.
What is it about snooker that sees its appeal rocket when times are tough? What are the chances of any of the players at the Lucania - other than Steve Davis - making it to the top of the sport? Michael talks to Barry Hearn and Steve Davis himself to find out.
