Speaking to the Today programme about ousted civil servant Sir Olly Robbins, who was sacked last week, the Scotland Secretary said Sir Olly was a “distinguished public servant” but that it was possible for “good people to make bad judgements”.
Earlier in the programme, former permanent under-secretary for the Foreign Office Lord McDonald said Sir Olly had been “thrown under the bus”.
