Dr. Ben Bikman explains that while there’s no direct connection between a lack of a gallbladder and insulin resistance, the diet often associated with gallbladder issues plays a significant role.
Gallstones form when bile stays in the gallbladder too long, leading to crystallization. This is commonly due to a low-fat diet, which doesn’t prompt the gallbladder to empty frequently.
To avoid gallstones, regular consumption of fats is necessary. Those on low-fat diets often end up eating high-carb diets, which can contribute to insulin resistance. Therefore, the diet, rather than the lack of a gallbladder, is linked to insulin resistance.
