11:24Now PlayingIt was during the Heritage Open Day at King's Lynn that I was able to speak with Mr Nigel Amies, who was portraying a Royalist musketman from the English Civil War, at the town's historic South Gate. After we spoke a bit about our common hobby, he agreed to talk a little about his matchlock musket, uniform, and the history of his impression for the camera!
Those of us whose primary interests lie in later years may be interested to see how dramatically different some aspects of drill and kit are during these, the early years of musketry formations and foot drill.
Nigel has what I think many on this channel would think of as a dream job, as he is quite literally a 'professional reenactor,' and freelance educator. This is but one of many impressions he has, from the Georgian period to the World Wars.
