Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next" album dropped Friday. Along with Grande's fifth album, comes a new music video for the song "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored" from director Hannah Lux Davis.
Davis is the director behind many hit music videos. This year, Grande and Davis' video for the single "Thank U, Next" broke the Youtube record for most views within 24 hours of release with 55 million views, according to Billboard. The video instantly went viral thanks to cameos from celebrities like Kris Jenner and Troye Sivan.
"We broke the internet," Davis told CNBC Make It.
Davis also directed the video for Grande's "7 Rings," referring to a time when the star bought Tiffany & Co. rings for her seven best friends.
Davis told CNBC Make It that behind the scenes, Grande gave her an eighth ring on set, as a token of gratitude. "I was, and still am, insanely speechless, it was such a generous gift." The Tiffany Setting engagement ring features a diamond on a platinum band. They retail starting at $12,900. "It made me feel like she really appreciated all the work I've done for her."
Davis got her start directing music videos after a treatment she wrote for a Lil Wayne video caught his eye. She has since worked with artists such as Future, Ciara, Nicki Minaj, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus.
