Armed Civilian Shoots Robber In The Head… And He Keeps Running

An armed civilian in Tulsa was approached outside a convenience store by two robbers — one armed with a knife, the other with a gun.

That is the nightmare scenario.

Two on one.

Hands busy.

Head down.

Boxed in at a gas station.

But the victim was armed, willing, and able to fight back.

According to police, he pulled his own gun and fired one shot, hitting one of the robbers in the head.

And then that robber ran across the street before collapsing.

So much for “one shot, one stop.”

This is the part people need to understand: handguns do not work like the movies. A headshot does not always mean instant lights out. A body shot does not always immediately stop the threat. And when your life is on the line, betting everything on one perfect shot is not a plan.

The goal is not a magic shot.

The goal is to stop the threat.

That means training for reality, not internet myths.

It also means understanding that the fight may not be over after the first round is fired. In this case, the second robber got away, and the victim was left cooperating with police.

That’s the other fight nobody talks about enough.

You survive the robbery, then the legal aftermath begins.

This is why awareness matters.

This is why training matters.

This is why capacity matters.

And this is why the gun is the great equalizer when one person is forced to stand against two.

This is why self-defense doesn’t end when the shooting stops.
